Charges Laid After Traffic Stop

Not having a rear licence plate on his vehicle has lead a 29-year old Thunder Bay man into police custody.

Officers tell us it was last night just after 8 when one of their own stopped the vehicle near the corner of Frederica and Brown Streets for the plate infraction.

The man opened the door and ran off.

The officer tried to arrest him, and was assisted by other police.

A search of the man found drugs, money and a knife, while a further search found he was also a disqualified driver.

He remains in custody facing a raft of charges.
