Calling it a shift in the way they do business, the Athletic Director at Lakehead University says the men’s hockey team is now under the financial responsibility of the university.
Up until now, the team has been run by both profit and not-for-profit groups.
Tom Warden explains if they don’t look at what the business trends are or make changes, then they don’t survive.
He says the move was made to maintain the longevity of the program.
Warden notes the idea has been in the works for the last four or five years.
