Chamber Of Commerce Happy With Opening Strategy

The plan to open the province’s post-pandemic economy is welcome news to the president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.

The Ford government released a three-stage plan on how it will lift restrictions but the premier stressed they don’t have a date for when they will do so.

Charla Robinson tells us she likes the measures which have been announced to getting businesses back online.

“I appreciate that the government is trying to be very cautious to insure that we don’t lose the gains that we have made by being closed. It would be really sad to then open everything up and then have to close it all down again,” notes Robinson.

The chamber president calls the government’s approach, pragmatic “To help to insure we can continue to move forward.”

Robinson also agrees with the decision by the Ford government not to announce any dates explaining “We’ll be waiting for further guidence” while officials wait for the COVID-19 testing numbers to start to come down and to allow stage one of the process to come into effect.
