Winter does strange things to people – especially in Northern Ontario, where the wind feels like it’s trying to exfoliate you with tiny ice knives. So on-air, I mentioned that I’ve been putting hand lotion on my boyfriend’s hands because they get so rough this time of year…and let’s face it…guys don’t really care that their hands are splitting open and as rough as sandpaper!
That’s when Country 105 listener Lori called in, laughing before she even got her name out. She said, “I heard you talking about moisturizing your man’s hands… and I just about drove off the road because I do the exact same thing to my husband!”
Her husband is a full-on blue‑collar guy & works with his hands all day, comes home with that “I’ve been building civilization” kind of grit. But every winter, Lori slathers him in lotion like he’s a prize show pony. And because of it, his hands are shockingly soft. Like, suspiciously soft. Like, “sir, what spa are you secretly visiting” soft.
