Organizers who are attempting to restore the Chippewa Park carousel appear to have hit a wall.
Spokesperson Iain Angus tell us about half the carousel’s wooden horses have been fixed up, but they are desperate to raise close to $450,000 to complete the job.
The Friends of Chippewa Park official says they will be knocking on doors over the next several weeks as part of their fundraising efforts.
The efforts to restore the once-popular merry-go-round began in 2016 when they announced plans to raise about $900,000 for the project.
So far, they have managed to obtain $300,000 from both the city and the federal government, but are behind where they wanted to be by this time in the campaign.
