A fatal north side house fire in the city was caused by careless smoking.
The blaze at 114 Machar Avenue happened in the early morning hours of January 19th.
Officials with the Office of the Fire Marshal determined it started in a couch in the main floor living room and killed one man and sent a woman to hospital.
It also reignited the call to make sure the smoke alarms you have in your home are all checked regularly and have fresh batteries.
