People operating tourist attractions have lost American traffic for the summer season.
The federal government has announced the U.S./Canada border closure has been extended until September 21st at the earliest. It was set to expire on August 21st.
Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair says the government will continue to do what’s necessary to keep our communities safe.
The ban on non-essential travel hasn’t been lifted since it was implemented in March and the extension comes at a time when the U.S. continues to struggle with spiking COVID-19 cases.
