Canada starts Day 8 of Paris Olympics with silver medal

Canada starts day 8 of the Paris Olympics with a silver medal.

The women’s eight rowing team, which includes Abby Dent of Kenora, Ont., finished second on the podium Saturday morning, with Romania placing first and Great Britain finishing third.

Canada now has 12 medals — six bronze, three silver, and three gold.

Later in the morning, we’ll see Derek Gee and Michael Woods compete in the men’s cycling road race.

During the day, Shallon Olsen and Ellie Black are in the artistic gymnastics women’s vault final.

Josh Liendo and Ilya Kharun take the pool for the men’s 100m butterfly final.

Sydney Pickrem and Summer Mcintosh are in the women’s 200m individual medley final.

The Canadian mixed 4x100m medley team will also try to add to our medal count.
