Boycott Talk Grows

There appears to be a movement on social media to boycott American products and services during the current Canada-U.S. trade dispute.

Some are advocating everything from American grown grapes to music from the United States.

However, the country’s labour minister Patty Hajdu explains the government put tariffs on certain American products so consumers would have a choice because “Canadians are very protective of their country.”

The labour minister adds, the government “hopes that common sense will prevail” and there can be “return to cooler times”, but until then, the government will “stand up for Canadian jobs”

Our online news poll asked if you supported a boycott of American products, 75 per cent said yes.
