Borderland Pride is looking for a little support from Fort Frances Town Council.
The group is still in the planning stage for a summer Pride Week in celebration of the area’s LGBTQ2S community.
Co-chair Doug Judson says they want Council to proclaim the week, conduct a flag raising ceremony, and give permission for a march through the community.
“I think it’s an important validation of what we’re doing, and the community’s sense of inclusion and welcome, and our openness to having diverse families and young people, and encouraging more diverse families and young people to come here,” Judson points out.
