Ex-Conservative Maxime Bernier has launched his new party and he’s calling it the People’s Party of Canada.
Bernier is touting it as a party that believes in a smaller government.
“Government shouldn’t intervene to solve each and every problem on the road to a utopian and unrealistic vision of society.”
The party hasn’t been registered yet with Elections Canada but is expected to in the coming weeks.
Bernier noted there won’t be a leadership race and he expects to be able to run a full slate of candidates in the next federal election.
