Bear Spray Assailant Sought By Police

Thunder Bay Police are looking for a suspect after a bear spray incident on the south side.

Four adults, including a 75-year-old man, were hit just before midnight Monday near Paterson Park.

They were waiting at a bus shelter when a man approached and sprayed them.

At least two of the victims required medical assistance from Superior North EMS.

The suspect is described as Indigenous, in his 20’s, approximately 5’8 with a thin build.

He was wearing a red outlined hood with a black and white hoodie with red stripes, and a grey or red pair of joggers at the time of the incident.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
