Bear Found Injured In Rainy River Recovering

A bear found paralysed in a field in the Rainy River district is expected to make a full recovery.

The animal, named Hope, was discovered last month and eventually taken to a black bear sanctuary in southern Ontario.

Mike McIntosh with Bear With Us says it was determined the animal was suffering from an inflammation of the spinal cord.

McIntosh says treatment will continue for a while, but it’s possible the bear could be returned to the wild this summer.
