Bear Cub Safe After Roaming City Streets

After wandering the streets of Thunder Bay, a bear cub is back in wildlife protection.

Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue was called to take the cub out of a tree on Machar Avenue early Sunday evening, to help the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

The fire department says it got close enough with a ladder, secured it in the ladder’s bucket, and brought it to MNRF officials who took it to a wildlife rehab centre.

A couple of calls to our newsroom reminded people to be ware as the cub roamed city streets for a while.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
