Premier Doug Ford refuses to engage on opposition calls that his government has been slow to respond.
“There are certain areas that we have to make a decision based on the advice Chief Medical Officer and the health table,” says Premier Ford. “The Fall Preparedness Plan has been in the works for a while, the health minister (Christine Elliott) and her team have been working around the clock getting ready for this. That’s what’s been happening, we’ve been transparent.”
Ford adds after a summer that saw cases at a relatively low level, it was time to take action in the second wave of the novel coronavirus.
“We’re still going to keep the take-out and delivery services open,” stresses Premier Ford “The nightclubs have been concerning. There have been outbreaks, and we just can’t chance it.”
