Families who rely on provincial autism services are rallying in unison in Sudbury and Thunder Bay.
A rally is taking place tonight starting at 5 pm on Red River Road at the same time a protest is taking place outside a fundraiser Premier Doug Ford is attending in northeastern Ontario.
A local rally organizer tells us she spoke with the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services when he was in Thunder Bay in August and was told he understood their concerns however 1000 children have been left without a service provider.
The group calls the provincial government’s changes to the autism program has resulted in an emergency situation across the north.
The Northern Ontario Autism Alliance is demanding emergency action on autism services.
