Are you a sports fan? How would you feel about only being able to watch live sports from a steaming service? Happening in the US, Amazon Prime Video as well as Apple TV+ is going to be changing the way they watch live sports.
Starting this year Thursday night NFL games are only going to be able to be viewed through Amazon Prime Video!! It’s an 11-year agreement between the NFL and Amazon and as a result they may miss out on 15 regular season games without the app!
Also starting next month 2 MLB games will air on Friday nights only on Apple TV+. Apple paid approximately 85 million dollars to the rights and because they have never had any live events on their streaming platform I’m not too sure how it is going to work out as far as the quality will go but the MLB media will produce the broadcasts.
How do you feel about these changes? I personally only watch hockey and basketball but, I don’t want to hold my breath because if this ends up working out for Amazon and Apple I could see them maybe trying to buy into the NHL and NBA as well.
