A 40-year-old Thunder Bay woman is in custody after a number of thefts against seniors and other vulnerable people.

Police have been looking into a series of incidents since spring of this year.

Most of the victims were seniors and vulnerable people.

One theft saw police called to a home on Cumberland Street South, after a break and enter was reported Saturday, July 3.

Police found that the victim had limited mobility and could not get out of bed without help.

This theft saw the suspect enter the home, stating they were a health-care service worker. She left before police arrived.

More work done by police found the same suspect entered other homes in the area as well.

The charges against the suspect include:

  • Four counts of Uttering Forged Documents
  • Two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order

Some of the charges date as far back as January of 2020.

The investigation continues.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
