Arrest After Impaired Driving Crash

A 34-year-old Thunder Bay women is in custody after a hit-and-run.

It happened early Wednesday morning, just before 5:45 a.m. near University Drive and Bayberry Crescent.

Police were called after reports of an individual suspected to be impaired driving a grey pick up truck had collided with another vehicle.

The individual was eventually stopped by police at Redwood Avenue and James Street.

Police have said they observed multiple signs of impairment, and saw open containers of alcohol in the truck.

The driver was arrested without any issues, and was sent to the Thunder Bay Police Headquarters.

Breath samples proved that she was drunk, and she is being charged with:

• Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired Alcohol and/ or Drugs
• Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration
• Failure to Stop After Accident
• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
