Another Store Gets Cannabis Retail Licence

Thunder Bay now has a third company that has been granted its retail licence.

The Toke House is already located in Westfort on James Street South and has been selling cannabis accessories for several years.

Steve Kis runs the store with his father and hopes to have their cannabis sales in-store by April.

Renovations to their building have been underway for a couple of months to allow for the cannabis sale as there will be a divide between the cannabis retail operation and the accessories.

Kis adds he’s happy to have their store be the first to be approved in Westfort since people may stick to their local stores.

“Just do the driving math, Thunder Bay is so spread out, it takes about ten minutes to get from Westfort to the Intercity area,” Kis notes.

This week, Thunder Bay’s first recreational pot store Tokyo Smoke opened up and Kia Ora on Victoria Avenue is also aiming for cannabis sales in April.
