Another drug bust at a northern First Nation airport

The Nishnawbe Aski Police continue to crack down on drugs being brought into northern First Nations via the airport.

The most recent occurrence took place on the North Spirit Lake First Nation.

Police say they seized about $15,000 worth of crack cocaine earlier this month.

Officers received a call for service on the afternoon of Sunday, August 3.

A female suspect was arrested after they found the crack on her and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

A 39-year-old woman from North Spirit Lake has been charged with trafficking.

She has been released from custody with conditions and has a future court date.
