Anna Gibbon Recommended To Be Removed From Office

Justice of the Peace, Anna Gibbon could be removed from office.

After a panel found that she had committed judicial misconduct regarding a highway traffic act case involving her son, a review council is recommending that Gibbon be removed from office.

The panel wants to restore public confidence, hence their decision. However, one member of the panel suggests a variety of disciplinary actions including a 30-day suspension without pay, offering apologies to those affected, and undertaking additional education from a mentor.

Gibbon was appointed as Justice of the Peace for Ontario Courts in 2013 and was previously the first Aboriginal liaison for the City.

The full disposition can be read here.
