New documentary alert!! Netflix announced yesterday that a brand new Johnny Cash documentary (The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash) is coming out On November 11th. The documentary will have archival footage mixed with interviews of contemporary artists relating stories and sharing love for The Man In Black. The documentary is using Cash’s 1968 show at Folsom Prison as a kind of central setting, though the footage comes from all over his career! There’s some extra music added to the documentary as well, which comes courtesy of Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, which is kind of odd, but neat at the same time! The director of this documentary also did the ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ movie and has the blessing of Cash’s family. I’m pretty excited to see it! Check out the trailer below!
