An Indigenous Recognition Wall Coming To The City Archives

The City of Thunder Bay is unveiling a recognition wall ahead of Friday.

The Indigenous Recognition Wall is a dedicated space at the Harry Kirk Archives & Record Centre.

In a statement from the City, the Wall consists of three translucent panels depicting the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850, a land recognition statement, and the City’s 2010 Declaration of the Rights of Aboriginal Peoples, mounted against a background archival image of Anemki Wajiw (Thunder Mountain, also known as Mount McKay).

The wall will be officially unveiled Wednesday, Sept. 28.
