All schools across the province will be dark next Friday.
All four teachers’ unions have announced they will be holding a one-day walkout on Friday, February 21st to back their contract demands.
The walkout follows rotating strikes that have been going on for the last month.
This is the first time that all teachers will be walking off the job.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario and the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens, are all embroiled in bitter contract disputes with the Ford government.
The main issues have been the government’s insistence that teachers accept a one percent salary increase, the union’s demand for lower class sizes, and the elimination of online learning.
