The role of the city’s most popular hockey team in a new event centre is becoming clearer.
Gary Green, the leader of the Thunder Bay Live consortium surprised some in the council chamber Monday, when he stated that the Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s hockey team would not play all of their home games in the new 109 million dollar facility.
Green said only important games would be played there. He says it’s because the operating costs and amount of fans they would draw on some nights wouldn’t justify all Thunderwolves games being played in the event centre.
However, there was no indication where the LU team would play other than the Fort William Gardens. (File Photo) (Audio below)
