Thunder Bay Police are charging a 39-year-old Oliver Paipoonge man with dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault and uttering threats.
The accused was charged in connection to an assault on Centre Avenue earlier this week.
Police say a man was walking in the area of Centre Avenue and Francis Street when he heard a loud truck speed toward him, a man and woman then jumped out of the vehicle and allegedly began striking the victim with a bat-like object.
Yesterday, police pulled over a motorist for speeding and confirmed he was the accused in the alleged assault.
The accused appeared in court today and has a future court date.
