An OPP officer has been killed in the line of duty in northern Ontario.
Around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon Constable Tarun Bali was seriously injured while he was conducting an investigation on a road near Hearst.
He was later pronounced deceased.
One person is currently in custody.
Bali had been working out of the Dufferin Detachment but was on deployment to the James Bay detachment.
He had been on the job for only two and a half years.
