Donald Malcolm “Malcolm” Clark

April 16, 1949 – May 28, 2026

Malcolm Clark — who much preferred his middle name to his first — died on May 28, 2026, at his beloved Two Island Lake in Jacques, Ontario. He was 77.

Born in Port Arthur, Ontario, Malcolm was a wonderful man whose zest for life never dimmed. He grew up ski jumping and earned a scholarship to jump for the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he graduated with a degree in business finance.

Malcolm owned and operated a club in Colorado before working in sales and marketing in the ski industry at Vail and Sugarbush, Vermont. In 1990, he returned home to Thunder Bay and began a long and fruitful career in real estate.

His love of Northern Ontario drew him to specializing in lakes and islands, and among his proudest accomplishments was helping assemble the sale of 13 lots in Little Trout Bay to the Nature Conservancy to create a protected park. He was also a longtime, devoted member of the Hill City Kinsmen Club.

His favorite place in the world was the family camp at Two Island Lake, which became his full-time home in 2003. Boisterous, kind, and generous, Malcolm loved a good party and was famous for hosting them at camp. He met the love of his life, Sharon, and together they shared some 26 years, marrying in 2018.

In recent years he spent much of his time visiting Christine in New York City, Rachel and Monica’s families in Kenora, and escaping the Thunder Bay winters for tropical destinations. He lived life fully and was a very happy man.

Malcolm was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Donald Clark.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Christine Clark (James OBrien), Rachel (Matthew) Craig, Monica (Jacob) Stevens, grandchildren Lauren and Isabella Craig, and John Stevens; his brother, Russell Clark (Catherine Petrone); and his nephew, Colin Clark.

A celebration of Malcolm’s life will be held in the Sargent and Son Reception Centre on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society.  Online condolences can be made at www.sargentandson.com.
