A wrong turn leads to something pretty incredible

Today on TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD:  this one that proves a wrong turn can lead to something pretty incredible. Down in Vancouver, Washington, 87‑year‑old Joe Symonds has been delivering food for the last year and a half — just trying to cover bills and pay for his medication.

Well, one day he shows up at the wrong house… and that ‘wrong house’ belonged to a woman named Alyona. She’s cleaning out her garage, sees Joe looking a little off, starts chatting — and suddenly realizes this man still grinding through long delivery shifts is almost ninety.

Joe tells her the job’s getting tough… stairs, long hours, even a few falls. So Alyona hands him a hundred bucks and tells him to take the day off. But she doesn’t stop there. She posts his story online, starts a GoFundMe… and at first it trickles in. Four hundred bucks. Nice start.

Then it blows up. Donations from around the world — over forty thousand dollars — all for a man they’ve never met. Joe says he never knew people like that existed. Alyona says it reminded her how many good hearts are out there. And Joe? He thinks that wrong address – wasn’t wrong at all. He calls her his ANGEL.
