The Thunder Bay Border Cats are facing some serious pitching concerns in the midst of their season-opening road trip.
The Cats gave up 9, 8 and now 19 runs in their first three games.
They sit at 1-2 on the season after being routed 19-0 by the La Crosse Loggers last night. Our pitchers walked a remarkable 17 batters and gave up 14 hits.
The Cats’ bats fell quiet this time, managing just four hits. Designated hitter Alex Kean accounted for two of them, bringing his season batting average to .462.
Thunder Bay will look to right the ship tonight in a rematch in La Crosse, before heading home for a 7 p.m. home opener tomorrow.
