Loving and devoted partner of Jeannie Dahl. Loved by his sister Jacque Berg of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, step-brother Michael Smart & Jacquie Loretta of New Zealand, sister-in-law Faye Dahl of Thunder Bay, and by their families.

Predeceased by his parents Walter Smart, step mother Verla, his mother Serena Clark, and by his brother-in-law Victor Dahl.

Barry was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, and moved to Nipigon with his father in 1952. Barry graduated from high school in Nipigon and went on to work in the paper mill in Red Rock, as pipe fitter. He is a life member of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada.

Barry was an ethical sportsman, he loved fishing, golfing, curling, and small game hunting. His devoted partner Jeannie was his competition.

He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church Nipigon, and a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32, Nipigon.

A Celebration of Barry’s life will be held Monday June 8th at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Nipigon, with the Rev. Jan Latham officiating.

Memorial donations to St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Nipigon, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32, or the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.

Interment in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon.
