If you’ve got an amazing woman in your life—past or present—who helped shape Thunder Bay, the City Archives wants to hear about her.
Women’s History Month is coming up this October, and the plan is for a huge exhibit. So, they’re starting the process now, and looking for local legends to spotlight.

City Archivist Christina Wakefield says they especially want to honour the stories of Indigenous women and women of colour who make our community vibrant. Whether she was part of the arts, business, community life, or just quietly changed Thunder Bay for the better—this is her moment.
You have until July 1, 2026 to send in a short bio and a couple of photos. The chosen stories will be highlighted in October.
