A powerful journey — and it’s only just beginning

This is a fantastic story of talent, resilience, and culture.

There’s an Indigenous designer – her name is Tammy Wolfe, originally from Norway House Cree Nation in northern Manitoba – and she’s getting ready to showcase her work on the international stage at Tokyo Fashion Week next month.

Tammy’s been doing beadwork since she was eight — no teachers, no YouTube tutorials,  Just passion, patience, and a love for the craft. Today, her designs are more than fashion. They’re storytelling, healing, and advocacy.

Her brand is called: Red Hummingbird Designs.  Tammy honours Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two‑Spirit People, including her own mother, Holly, whose memory inspires much of her work.

Tammy’s pieces have been featured across Canada, but this is her first time stepping onto a global runway — and she’s bringing an all‑Indigenous team of models with her.

She hopes her art inspires others to chase their dreams and reminds us that Indigenous stories, strength, and beauty deserve to be seen.

A powerful journey — and it’s only just beginning.
