It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Ronald Taggart on May 2, 2026.

Twenty years ago, Dave met Tricia, the love of his life. They married and never looked back, building a life filled with love, laughter, travel, and countless cherished memories.

Dave was a proud and devoted father and stepfather to Tamara Bernard, Kevin Foekens (Rita), Zachary Taggart (Shylana), Kyle Foekens (Cassidy), Shaleena Ryan (David), and Abigail Taggart. He was a deeply loved Papa to Izzak, Trey, Stetsin, Amara, Athena-Rae, Jax, Adrieana, Gemma, and Ada-Lynn all of whom brought him immense joy.

He will be dearly missed by his siblings Sandra (Daryl), Robert, and Brian (Christy), as well as his extended family, including Angie & Sean Main, Bomber & Andrea, and Vincent Foresta.

Dave was the eldest son of Evelyn Taggart of London and the late David (Ronald) Taggart (2002). He was also a cherished son-in-law to the late Pat and Dominic Foresta.

He will be especially missed by his beloved dog, Tillie, who looked forward to their daily adventure walks.

Dave had a deep love for the outdoors. At just 17 years old, he began his career with the Ministry of Natural Resources. As he prepared for retirement, he spent the last 11 years with the Office of the Fire Marshal. Throughout his career, Dave formed many lasting friendships that he carried with him through life.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Autism Northwest (Thunder Bay).
