No one was injured as a result of a fire in an apartment building on Bay Street.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue says the blaze broke out early Saturday afternoon.
The first arriving fire crews saw smoke, and went to a second floor apartment.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
Fire fighters determined there were no people or pets inside and all the other occupants of the building were evacuated safely.
The fire department reminds people to never leave cooking unattended.
