Video games, and a 91 year old.

Let’s go to Westlake, Ohio for this story:

A senior safety program did exactly what it was designed to do last week… just with a hilarious twist.

The city runs something called the “Are You Okay?” program—daily check‑in calls for seniors who want a little extra peace of mind. But when a 91‑year‑old woman didn’t answer her call, people got concerned. Dispatchers couldn’t reach her, her daughter couldn’t reach her, and officers were sent to check on her.

They opened her garage—her car was still there. They knocked, called out… nothing. Finally, they made their way inside.

And there she was… perfectly fine… sitting in her bedroom, totally locked in on a video game. She was so focused on beating her high score, she didn’t hear a thing.

Everyone had a good laugh, including her. And it was a sweet reminder that programs like this really matter—because even when the ending is funny, they make sure no one slips through the cracks.

And hey… turns out you’re never too old to chase a high score.
