Sherry Costa (Monteith), aged 67, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026 at TBRHSC, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 18, 1959, in Fort William, Ontario, Sherry lived a life centred on family, love, and the simple joys of the outdoors. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Costa (Pino).

Sherry is survived by her children Christy Costa, Frank Costa (Meagan), and Tyler Costa (Emma). She was a proud and loving Nana to her grandchildren: Camryn, Owen, Paityn, Hailey, Melanie, Vanessa, Jana, Noah and Parker. She is also survived by her brothers Terry Monteith (Claire), Kerry Monteith (Randi) and Robin Monteith (Kelly) along with many nieces and nephews

She cherished spending her summers camping at Mark’s Lake and fishing with her family, creating lasting memories in nature. Sherry faced her final days with courage, supported by the compassionate care of the Oncology Department at TBRHSC. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff who provided such loving and attentive care during her time there.

Sherry will be deeply missed for her warm heart and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 9th from 1pm to 5pm at The DaVinci Centre. Drop in and share a memory of Sherry with her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherry’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
