Mr. Terrence “Terry” Joseph Mahoney was born on August 9, 1955, in Nipigon, Ontario, to the late Daisy and John Dennis Mahoney. Terry passed away at the age of 70 on April 14, 2026, at the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.

Terry was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife Lynn, son Steven, granddaughter Shiera; his brothers Dennis Mahoney (Mary), Jack Mahoney (Debbie), and Kevin Mahoney (Rose); his sisters-in-law Ilona, Rita and Kathy. Terry was predeceased by his sister Kathy, father John (Chic) Mahoney and mother Daisy Mahoney.

Terry had many interests and was well read on a wide range of subjects, extending far beyond the plumbing and heating trade to which he dedicated much of his life. He was also known throughout the community as someone who was always among the first to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike.

In keeping with Terry’s wishes, no formal funeral or memorial service will be held. Family and friends are invited to remember him in their own way and to honour his memory through acts of kindness or by supporting causes that were meaningful to him.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the medical staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre – Cancer Care, and Nipigon District Memorial Hospital for their years of care, compassion, and support throughout Terry’s battle with cancer.

Terry leaves behind a lifetime of proud and loving memories that will be cherished by his extended family and all who knew him.
