Vaudeville Baby! Hits the TBCA This Saturday – TBSO Conductor Jeff Christmas Joins Dee in Studio (Audio)

Thunder Bay is in for a big, bright, one‑night‑only show this Saturday at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium –Vaudeville Baby!, a high‑energy mash‑up of music, comedy, and classic variety brought to life by the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and Badanai Theatre.

And leading the whole thing? The one and only Jeff Christmas – composer, arranger, drummer, conductor, and all‑around creative powerhouse.

Jeff’s résumé is stacked: trained at York, Western, and Berklee, performed around the world, worked with huge names like Michael Bolton, Roger Hodgson of Supertramp, The Rankins, Ashley MacIsaac, Jackie Richardson… and somehow still finds time to create Pops shows and tour with Jeans ’n’ Classics.

This weekend, he brings that big theatrical energy back to Thunder Bay for a show that blends old‑school vaudeville charm with a full symphony orchestra. It’s fast‑paced, playful, and packed with surprises – including performers from the Badanai Young Company, the Encore Ensemble, and even cast members from We Will Rock You. (There might be a Queen moment… just saying.)

This is the fifth collaboration between Badanai Theatre and the TBSO, continuing a creative partnership that’s brought us sold‑out hits like 9 to 5, The Music Man, From Broadway to the Bay, and Disney Adventures.

If you missed Jeff and Dee’s chat, you can listen to the interview – it’s full of laughs, behind‑the‑scenes stories, and why this show is such a special one.
