Hammarskjold boys to play for gold at OFSAA curling championships

The Hammarshjold Vikings’ boys curling team will play for gold at the all-Ontario high school curling championships in Thunder Bay.

The team skipped by Warren Stroud defeated Medway High School from Arva, north of London, 5-3 during a semifinal game at the Port Arthur Curling Club.

The teams exchanged points in the first four ends.

Hammarskjold gained the lead for good, scoring twice in the 5th and adding another in the 6th.

Medway narrowed the gap with a single point in the 7th but ran out of rocks in the final end.

Stroud’s foursome will now take on Port Perry High School in the gold medal game at 12:30 p.m. Eastern today.
