Thunder Bay boys high school curlers unbeaten at OFSAA championship

Two Thunder Bay high school curling teams have opened play at the all-Ontario championship in Thunder Bay with wins.

The Hammarskjold Vikings boys team skipped Warren Stroud defeated Bishop Allen Academy from Etobicoke 11-3 in Wednesday night draw.

They had scored a convincing 10-2 victory over Maxwell Heights Secondary School of Oshawa in a mid-morning draw.

St. Patrick’s High School’s boys’ team won their opener last night, with a 7-2 win over Iroquois Falls.

Kenora’s St. Thomas Aquinas opened with a loss to Guelph by a 14-2 count.

On the girls’ side, Hammarskjold and Fort Frances teams lost their opening draws.

The competition resumes on Thursday at the Port Arthur Curling Club at 8 a.m. Eastern time.
