Theresa Doski

December 30, 1937- March 5, 2026

Theresa Doski (her original Polish name was Czeslawa Jaremko) was born in Nagorzanka, Poland on December 30, 1937, and then was forced out of Poland during the war and was taken to Germany, where she met her first husband and had her daughter Eleanor. She wanted a better life for her and her daughter, so she immigrated to Canada in the late 1950s. And she was fated to have another daughter, Jean. Theresa had worked as a chamber maid later on, on a janitorial staff at Sherbrooke school in Thunder Bay. Baba loved all animals, especially cats. She owned a lot of cats in her life and a dog. Our grandmother was very warm and generous to anyone she met. Her family and everyone called her “baba”, especially close family friends.

Our grandmother Theresa put up quite a battle with dementia for a few years and she passed peacefully in her sleep.

Theresa Doski our “baba” is survived by numerous family: grandchildren; Sherry Kuzior (aka Dakota), Jamie Kuzior, Kelly Kuzior, and Nicole Laird; Great grand children: Lorissa Maclaurin, Jamie Potinteau, Braiden Trimboli, Chance Smith, Ashton Harju, Taiya Laberge and great- great grandchildren: Harlem LeGarde and Dusty. She is predeceased by her husband Nicholas Doski and two daughters, Eleanor Laird and Jean Hugowski.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm in St. Casimir’s R.C. Church (613 McKenzie Street), celebrated by Rev. Piotr Dudek.  Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
