Keep moving, keep laughing and keep feeling good!

Here’s some good news for anyone wondering how much of your day you should spend sitting, standing, walking, or sleeping. A team of Australian researchers studied more than 2,000 adults to figure out the ideal 24‑hour balance for better heart health—and the results are surprisingly doable.

According to the University team, the sweet spot looks like this:

8 hours of sleep

5 hours of standing

6 hours of sitting

About 4 hours of light to moderate activity sprinkled throughout the day.

It’s all about mixing movement with rest in the right proportions. And when it comes to “light activity,” well… if your version is grabbing a couple of cold ones and catching a hockey game—hey, to each his own.

The goal is simply to keep moving, keep laughing, and keep feeling good.
