Thunder Bay local facing charges for guns, drugs, jewellery

The Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau is charging a 27-year-old from Thunder Bay with a bevy of charges following a drug trafficking investigation.

In searching two properties on Balmoral Street and Simpson Street, OPP officers turned up a sizeable haul that included about a pound of cocaine, $65,000 in high-end jewellery, $38,000 in cash, an illegal gun and ammunition, and a taser.

The accused is facing charges related to weapon possession and storage, drug trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.

They have been released from custody, and are scheduled to face the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on March 25, 2026.
