Former Thunder Bay Border Cat going to bat for Canada

An ex-oufielder of the Thunder Bay Border Cats is representing Canada at the World Baseball Classic in Puerto Rico next month.

Jacob Robson played 19 games for the Border Cats in 2014 before being drafted to the MLB’s Detroit Tigers two years later.

Robson represented Team Canada at the 2023 World Baseball Classic as well, tallying five hits and an RBI as Canada finished 2-2 in the group stage.

The 31-year old Windsor native has 34 career home runs in the minor leagues. He currently plays for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League.
