It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our brother Steven Fred Rusnick. Steven was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 13, 1964, but spent a majority of his life in Thunder Bay.
Steven had many passions including his family, music, movies, sketching, walking, rollerblading, biking with his nieces Maelee and Amelia and nephew Lincoln, but let’s not forget McDonalds. He had a special relationship with his niece Amanda as well.
Steven was a full time Dietary Aide (SJCG) at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a valued member of the care group since May 31, 1989. The majority of his career was spent in food services, with a short period of time working in Environmental Services. Steven’s many years of service reflect his dedication as well as his commitment to the SJCG, and those they serve.
Steven is survived by sister Wendy Craig (nee Rusnick), brother Micheal Dolph (Marnie), sister Charmain Marshall (Brad) (nee Bingleman), father Robert Rusnick (Edmonton), stepfather Robert Bingleman, stepbrother Michael Bingleman, stepsister Audrey Bingleman, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and one uncle.
Steven was predeceased by mother Marvelle Bingleman (nee Dolph), grandparents Fred and Bunka Rusnick, grandparents Charlotte and Wallace Dolph, brother Shawn Dickson, uncle Frank Rusnick, nephew Bobby Rusnick, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven will be missed by many. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Local 229 Uniform Hall, 1060 Lithium Drive, from 2-4pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Society or Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated.
