Sharon Beatrice Bryenton

February 14, 1953 – January 1, 2026

Our mother Sharon Bryenton was a very talented writer. Sadly she has passed on to dance in Heaven and left this task to us.

Sharon was the favourite daughter of Richard and Beatrice Ferguson. She was born on the day dedicated to love, February 14, 1953. Her older brother Dale may remember it differently, but she thought he was darling. The truth is though, that it was her baby brother Randy who stole her heart.

Sharon was a spirited child. She told many tales about giving Beatrice a run for her money.

We are very thankful to those she called friends. Throughout her life she collected friends like treasures and cherished them forever.

Sharon held a lot of roles in her life, but we know her favourite job was being Terry Bryenton’s wife. They were married on June 28. I am guessing in 1972 because that was the year my sister was born (5 months later). They were married for 53 years. They were best friends. He was her protector and advocate. To any one who would listen she would say “He was quite the catch”.

She had 2 children, daughters in her likeness; gorgeous and brilliant, Tracy (Chris) Blackmon and Terri (Greg) Nicholson.

Sharon parented like other moms of her generation, as if they were wild dogs. She smiled as they ran by and hoped they didn’t break anything. She taught her girls to never back down and to live life in pursuit of laughter and adventure. If you asked our mom she would say that her grandchildren were her greatest accomplishments. Connor, Ellie, Charlotte and Declan will remember her as being the proudest grandma to ever live.

Mom was blessed to be loved by many. To Jennifer and Aaron, thank you for loving her like daughters. Thank you to Christina (and Ella) for being at mom’s side for 19 years.

If you were lucky to know Sharon, you were lucky enough. Life is short. Use the good dishes. Dance whenever you want, who cares who is looking.

We would like to thank the staff of Unit 1A at TBRHSC. Especially RNs Bella, Kirby and Hilary and Dr. Quon for their warms hearts and hard work.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place 5:30pm – 7:00pm at the Salvation Army Church on Thursday, January 8, 2026. If you would like to honour Sharon, please donate to Muscular Dystrophy Canada at muscle.ca
