NWMO begins regulatory process for DGR

The long process of designing and licensing a deep underground nuclear waste repository (DGR) between Ignace and the Wabigoon Lakes Ojibway Nation has started.

The initial project description has been posted to the Imapact Assessment Agency of Canada’s website.

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization says this is the next step in the regulatory process.

The public and Indigenous people are encouraged to submit their feedback on the proposal by February 4th.
