Today, December 2nd is GIVING TUESDAY. It’s thought of as a global generosity movement, where non-profit organizations can share the spotlight and talk about what it is they do, and most importantly ask for donations! (but, it goes beyond that)
It’s an initiative that started 13 years ago in New York, and received support from the United Nations. You’ll hear a lot about this TODAY, as many organizations across the city will be sharing their stories for GIVING TUESDAY. And, if you’re able to – please donate what you can! This is Canada’s largest generosity movement. Last year, charities who were part of this event, raised almost $16.5 million.

Giving Tuesday goes beyond just donating. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.
